ETHICAL SOURCING

David Law diamonds are responsibly sourced and Certified Conflict-Free.

Conflict-Free Diamond Policy

David Law ‘Your Personal Jeweller’ has a zero-tolerance policy toward conflict diamonds. All our diamonds are responsibly sourced, certified conflict-free via the Kimberley Process, and abide by national and international law. The Kimberley Process tracks diamonds from mine to market. It is an industry in partnership with the United Nations, governments, and non-governmental organisations, which polices diamond exports to prevent the trade of illegal diamonds.
The Kimberley Process has, to date, 54 participants representing 81 countries. At David Law ‘Your Personal Jeweller’, we only purchase diamonds through the largest and most respected suppliers. They proudly adhere to and enforce the standards established by the Kimberley Process. All the diamonds that we sell are warranted to be conflict-free. If our respected suppliers violated that process, we would immediately sever the relationship.
David Law will continue to support and promote any process that works to uphold legitimacy in the diamond trade. Diamonds are a significant source of good in many African nations, employing and providing healthcare to thousands.

Canadian Diamonds

Although slightly more expensive, Canadian diamonds take the Kimberley process up another level. Each diamond comes with a traditional GIA Certificate and a Canadian mark certificate that tells you the region, the diamond mine and the original rough where the diamond has been cut and polished.
Canadian diamonds also have fewer internal irregularities allowing a better light flow through the stone. They are highly desirable, conflict-free and mined to the world’s highest environmental standards.

Lab-Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment; the ethical issues associated with mined diamonds don’t exist. Lab-grown diamonds are steadily growing in popularity as a moral and affordable alternative to natural mined diamonds. Many consider them less rare and precious, but you can’t tell them apart.
Lab-grown diamonds are exactly the same as earth-grown diamonds in every way but cost a significant amount less. The traditional 4C still applies to Lab-grown diamonds, and they come with a GIA or IGI certificate, the same as natural mined diamonds.

Fairtrade Gold

Certified Fairtrade Gold is the world’s first independent ethical certification system for gold, although slightly more expensive. Buying a bespoke jewellery piece made with Fairtrade Gold standards means you support small-scale miners. So that they can receive a fair deal for their hard work, protecting women’s rights, child labour rights, the environment, and making life better for themselves and their communities.

All gold sourced from mines that meet the Fairtrade Gold Standard are globally recognised markers of best practice.
