London Jewellery Designers

There are many London jewellery designers to choose from, but how do you find the jeweller that is right for you?

You have scoured the high street and looked online and have concluded that the jewellery you have seen is all too similar in design and is not quite what you have been looking for.

So you have decided that to get the exact piece of jewellery you are looking for, you will have to go for a bespoke jewellery piece made exclusively for you, but how do you start?

What term should you search for on Google?

From extensive research with my clients, I know that each struggled with terms they should be searching for online. Is it bespoke jewellers, jewellery designers, or handmade jewellery? The list goes on and is endless.

Most end up asking friends for a recommendation or searching for Hatton Garden Jewellers if they live in London, the south of the country, or the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham for the rest of the UK.

How do I find the right jeweller?

The task is to find the right one you feel comfortable working with. Then, you could go back to a retail environment and look for a shop that offers a bespoke service or decide on an independent jewellery designer like myself who is studio- and workshop-based.

Today, most will display how many years they have been in the jewellery trade to try to draw you in. But I would advise that in itself is not enough; I would recommend delving deeper and discovering their expertise. Have they ever made jewellery at the workbench or only worked on mass-produced items? Many who have won jewellery establishments have never made jewellery.

Modern and traditional manufacturing techniques

Suppose they advertised that they work using 3D CAD software and printing. In that case, that again does not guarantee they can achieve what you want. Modern technology is fantastic; I have used it for over 12 years. However, with great authority, I can tell you that you only get the best if combined with traditional manufacturing techniques.

How many Jewellery designs should I get?

I always look to see what others offer to stay ahead of the field. Most jewellers who offer a bespoke service will take your ideas and create sketches or a 3D CAD design and possibly a 3D print of it, and once you approve it and choose your stones, they will make it for you.

It is all about choices in every aspect of your jewellery piece

I have always believed that although you might have a clear idea of the type of jewellery you wish to make, you can’t be 100% sure that it will work and be compatible with your lifestyle. To avoid these concerns, I expand upon my client’s original ideas and create a series of designs for them to see and amend on-screen. Then, they will be printed from the 3D printer for them to try on; this way, they will have complete confidence that the final design will be perfect.

Diamond Choices

So many companies expect you to become a diamond or gemstone expert by reading about it online and then choosing from a list. For some, this works, but call me old-fashioned, and I prefer to work the old-fashioned way of using my expertise to help clients select the perfect stone that fits within their budget by using their eyes.

Choosing the Right London Jewellery Designer

With my guidance, I hope you can now choose the right jewellery designer to work with to produce your perfect jewellery piece.
